im pretty sure this is the correct one " спорт"

I believe спортивные is an adjective used to describe another noun, such as:

спортивные магазины - Sports stores
спортивные клубы - Sports clubs
спортивные школы - Sports schools

Not used alone.

Similarly with спорта:

новости спорта - Sports News

I don't believe this term is used alone either.
