These guys have not even rolled out IE7 worldwide yet, and already they're talking about IE8:

I'm up for it if they can auto update that in Asia sooner than IE7 :p

Maybe IE8 is like a superpatch for IE7.

Well if it's anything like the XP ->Vista nightmare, it'll be a SuperFlop.

I just read about the freeware version of Vista, it will be a good boost for IE7. Lots of people don't mind the prompts and 15 second bootup delay.

They are talking about it because according to Microsoft's previous promises, it is overdue. No surprises there then!

IE8 can never be more than a significant revision of IE7. It is not going to be an entirely new browser like 7 was.

What it will do is give Microsoft a pretext to prompt those people who have asked not to be bothered again!
