There is a serious point here. If the Fed drop Interest Rates much further, the US will become the carry trade currency, and nearly all available investment capital will be sucked out of the US and invested abroad, which will paralyse the US economy, in much the same way it has that of the Japanese. Dropping interest rates to zero in Japan has probably been counter productive. It makes huge sense to borrow a depreciating currency.
