But Joomla really sucks for adsense minisites as it's difficult to get a good adsense heatmap going.

What if you were to write a script called index.php which generates links to other pages in the minisite, where the links look like:

index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=29" class="mainlevel"

index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=31" class="mainlevel"

Should be about a 30 minute exercise to implement. Any thoughts?

As long as you are pretty confident that this is what G likes about it I say go for it... Nothing too long to try out.

My link format for non DB pages is normally something like "/articles/subject_or_title_of_the_article" and for DB ones I append the id to it like so "/articles/39-title_of_article". I find that this usually works best for indexing. I guess you could even try append a keyword or two in the link to maximize the effort.
