As a test I regged 喜爱.公司 and now I am having trouble getting my dns server to recognize it.

I used the ccode converter and got:

xn--s1r087d.xn--55qx5d.aced.net

How do configure MS DNS on Wndows server 2003 to display the name.

It has been added to dns but shows a blank page.

Any help is appreaciated.

The DNS won't come up with an IP number for this address, as it is not part of the ICANN Internet. I don't think you are going to be able to do this outside the PRC.

Outside China, your url is 喜爱.公司.cn.

So they do actually map to .com.cn as I had always suspected they would?

As mentioned .com<>.公司. I think i've mentioned this at least 20 times on forums.

You can think of .公司 as .co though.

I don't think it has ever been explicitly stated that .公司 = .com.cn

<> means not equal, i do not have that equal slash sign on my keyboard. .gongsi is definitely not mapped to .com.cn, but there is nothing to stop them from doing so in the future, since .com.cn currently doesn't support IDN.

If you're running your own dns somewhere, you can simply add a new TLD .xn--55qx5d to your root zone file, with the appropriate IP number as supplied by the authorative DNS server in China. After you do that whenever you ask for a .公司 name, your DNS server will ask the server in China for the IP address.

I know how to do it in Linux, those running Windows need to find out whatever complicated procedure Microsoft has dreamed up for DNS by themselves.
