So only another six reverse gears to power through until we manage to grind to a halt.

Why can't they just agree on a list?

This begins to boarder on the absurd in how long it is taking to get even 1 country moving ahead on idn.idn.
Appears to be a microcosm of how our nations political systems get things done. :p

The problem is that it shouldn't be your political system that is in action anyway.

Have to laugh at Obama attacking the Chinese. Who the fuck does he think is going to pay for his fiscal stimulus? Besides the Chinese are correct when they say that cutting the exchange rate wouldn't help them in the current situation. If you are already highly competitive on price further reductions will not stimulate demand, just cut profit margins.

Then he is telling them they need to stimulate more, when they are probably doing more than he is in the first place in addition to underwriting his largess. The man must think that you can just print money.

Have to say, two days into this presidential term and I am getting disillusioned already. He has already more or less retracted on the infrastructure commitments in favor of Bush style tax handouts.

Frustrating, isn't it.

I recall one session about 3 or 4 meeting back they resolved to produce a list for the next day, but that was the last heard on the matter, so someone must have taken them aside after the session and told them that wasn't the way it was going to be done.

Hopefully ICANN will reveal the results of the letters they sent out surveying which countries wanted IDN ccTLD's in the fastrack process. LET'S SEE THE LIST!

Dec 21 2012 seems like a realistic launch date for idn.idn

"There were 17 comments from participants from 11 different countries. Participating were individuals and organizations representing: business owners, ICANN supporting organizations, domain name industry players, and governments."

Apparently the majority of the comments were complimenting the efficiency and speed of implementation of "what was it we are here to discuss?" to date and suggested that additional committees be set up to ensure that the "fast track" was slowed to a snails pace so that existing and new committee members could enjoy more of the exotic locations whilst contemplating the next stall tactics. :p
