This should increase type-in's for Japanese IDN .com's.

I haven't looked closely at the stats but type-in's from iPhones account for a good percentage of Japanese traffic to them.

If we can get a confirmation of this translation, I can put the text on a few of my japanese websites. Be great to get some iphone type in from Japan.

Is it easier to type in Katakana using an iphone? Is it hard on other phones there? I don't understand why having more people using iphones would lead to more type-in traffic.

Because a lot of the type-in traffic already arriving is coming from iPhones.

Therefore more iPhones = more type-in traffic.

Well Russian is boom time again. Consistently higher than ever before over a period of about 3 weeks now. Indian languages picking up nicely in terms of visits and even converting a few local keywords. Japanese NADA.

I love my iTouch...first off...
I have Japanese, Chinese and korean keyboards installed for playing around.

Japanese 12 to 35 year olds would not be got dead with an iPhone....

no keyboard...
terrible camera.
no video ....

Even Nokia and Motorola have trouble in this market....

end of story on this one....

Seems like apple has announced an update in the last few days adding some new features.
