For the record this is not a .mobi bashing thread.

I say let the numbers do the talking.

Just like the .tv extension; some terms fit and some terms don't.

Soccer.tv "fits".
Cheesegrater.tv "doesn't fit"

I recall at the time Rick bought flowers.mobi, he said that there are only a few terms that naturally work with the extension - I agree wholeheartedly with this, just like the .tv example I gave.

Flowers "fits"
Pizza "fits"

Pizza.mobi closed unsold at $6,800 today. Link (http://www.sedo.de/auction/history/pizza.mobi/51033_e_35426_)

Sign of the [economic] times; or has the wheels come off .mobi?

can't discount the first one, but I think the wheels have come off(if they were ever actually mounted in the first place)

google.mobi goes here http://www.google.com/mobile/
espn.mobi forwarded to a .com http://m.espn.go.com/wireless/index?w=186no&i=MOBI
weather.mobi stays at a .mobi

all fit the extension IMO, I realize that there are many other .mobi sites but these are top sites in my geo area. You never hear anything about .mobi, nothing. sometimes .tv pops up but nothing on .mobi

It was a pump and dumped that just curdled.

Some people are real bastards, blowing the whistle in the open and souring the whole operation.
