The chinese overture tool shows less results for even popular terms . why is that ?

Chinese overture doesn't work. Use HK and/or TW.

Probably because Yahoo is virtually irrelevant in China.

I think they'll probably get it up sooner or later, but by the time it happens most good compound names will be gone as well - they are already 90% gone even now.
