Nice to see more IDN exposure out there.
Especially the .com and .jp combo :)

Unfortunately they seem to use it as a jump platform to the ascii counterpart.
Even domainguru's game site has an ascii backdrop...

Have noticed this with many IDNs.

What's an "ASCII backdrop"?

If you mean we "dual-brand", then yes, and there are reasons many *real* IDN sites do it. For us, the main reason is so we don't scare off all our "customers" i.e. site visitors and sponsors. We live in the real world where nobody knows what xn-- means, few of our visitors are geeks. And the real world in Thailand where 40% of people still use "legacy software" = IE6. And the real world where we want to make money from IDNs :)

Why do people think this isn't a "real" IDN site because we allow people to access it with an ASCII URL, not just the IDN???

Co-branding is here to stay for years to come. deal with it, please, and move on.

I've explained what we do and why 10 times now on this forum. If some of you guys still don't get it .... please get back to your mini-sites!

I don't see why this was even an issue.

Co-Branding is quite popular in ASCII. Can't think of an example off the top of my head, but if Yahoo.com were to get Y.com, just exactly how do you imagine they would use it?

Honda does it with motorcycles.com idnf and idnforums why is this even a issue i'm sure no one really expected a mass exodus from ASCII domains to only IDN IMO that wouldn't make good business sense .

Having the ascii and idn is best of both worlds. A smart company would want the ascii.com, .net, and the idn.com, idn.net, and idn.cctld and ascii.cctld. And maybe even the .biz or .ws. I notice Dynadot is straightup advertising .ws as ".website". Nice way to p.o. all the Samoans. :p

killer keywords in .ws in ascii and IDN are gone so in the future if developed th that .ws= .website idea might just take off ;)

This is precisely the problem that IDN address.

In English there are often multiple accepted ways to transcribe a foreign term.
