Sure, it's the direct verb.
used as in 查找信息(search information)
while "查询", "信息查询" is the usage as the noun and indirect verb.

But it's still great.

What's interesting is that "查找" is not highlighted on the first page of google.cn at all, which threw me off.

I just checked Baidu and it is highlighted on the first page of results. I wonder why the discrepancy.
