hi everyone,,

new member,, great website,,

nice to know that there are people using their brain and trying to anticipate how the internet will go in the future in terms of languages.

i have a question,,,, does the .ne.jp domain have any worth,, use,,,,value,,

should i think about getting something there at all as with a little imagination it could also be rather interesting.

best wishes

Benjamin

Welcome Benjamin.

Take a look here: http://jprs.co.jp/en/stat/domains.html

This page describes what the different intended uses are for [domain].xx.jp

Also notice that IDNs are only available at the highest level [domain].jp

the point here is though not what their uses are,,, rather,,, marketability speaking how much exposure such a thing would get if i registered :::

not sure what other feedback you are after.

You posted on an IDN forum, in a sub-forum called Japanese IDNs asking if a non-idn (English word) with a Japanese extn is a good thing or not.

Why not just read and learn?

My personal opinion is that the high cost of a .ne.jp makes it undesirable from a domainer perspective. Traffic will be negligible and .ne.jp does not allow IDN so your only options are Engish or Romaji. Not the best choice for the Japanese market.

Oh, and it's expensive. Did I mention the cost?

Read? That's so last century. You mean there's no Youtube video explaining IDN in-depth?
