The lu-domain is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Luxembourg. As of February 1st 2010 domain name holders which are established outside Luxembourg are not no longer obliged to give valid power of attorney to an agent established in Luxembourg for the registration and the management of their lu-domains.

Since February 1st 2010 lu-domains with special characters of Luxemburgish, French or German are possible. There is a two months sunrise period between February 1st 2010 and March 31st 2010. During this sunrise period exclusively owners of registered lu-domains will be able to secure their ASCII names as equivalent IDNs. Registrations will be performed based on the validation date of incoming.
