Then you can waste your time playing domain games at 総統の夢.jp (http://xn--u9j683jxeyzka.jp/).

The idea is simple. You enter domain names to create monsters. You need to be creative to continue to create monsters.

Mission: Conquer the world with the help of monsters you create.

I posted this a couple of months ago.

If you play the game stick to the extensions that the JPRS runs. .com .net etc domains won't work.

I thought this was a great promotion by JPRS. It is so uniquely Japanese too.

So, you got to make 49 monsters. Wow. That's quite a few. You must have spent a lot of time to get there.

I played the game a couple of months ago and was able to bring the gauge to the end. And I thought that was just it.

Then I read recently that there's an extra movie for those who have successfully created all 55 monsters. I guess that'd make you a .jp pro. Not me unfortunately.

By the way, the website is actually a collaboration project with the movie (http://movie.walkerplus.com/mv45350/).

I was hoping that the movie that includes IDN in its title would create some awareness.

Not sure if it's contributed to IDN type-ins. Perhaps a little bit.

I got the impression that something happened when you got to 55 but I wasn't sure what.

The problem as you get nearer to the end is that it becomes that much harder to release one of the avatars/monsters. When I got to 49 I realized that it was going to take about as much effort as it took to get to 49 to get the last 6. I knew I was missing stuff too because of my lack of Japanese so I wasn't sure if maybe there was more I was supposed to do.

It does save a cookie for you so you can come back to the game another day and not have to start at the beginning.

I believe I used Google and the inurl command to find names using the JPRS extensions which made it much easier.

It certainly was a different sort of promotion. I am sure that it will help with awareness. I didn't know about the movie. When will it be released?

The movie was released on 16 Jan, and is still in the screen at several cinemas around Japan. The reviews suggest the movie was of good quality, at least to those who like this kinda stuff.

JPRS even made a TV commercial with the anime characters. You can watch it at youtube.
