That is one of the great advantages of Chinese. It is so much more compact than English. Japanese is also more compact than English though not quite to the same extent as Chinese.

Chinese and Japanese writers have a great advantage when it comes to systems like twitter which have a message size limit. Chinese and Japanese writers can say much more in a tweet than can an English writer.
