If possible, the Rec6 CWG should deliver its report with comments from the GNSO, ALAC, and GAC not later than 13 September 2010 to meet the 11-day advance publication that the Board requests for its retreat on new gTLDs. If that is not possible, an interim report should be delivered that provides the status of the work to date, estimates for completion and possible recommendations.

so if they miss the deadline, and they are given explicit permission to do so, there are no final recommendations to put to the Board during its retreat on gTLDs .....

Will that put us back another year???

I'd like to accuse myself of being pessimistic but well past that stage now ;-)

No, it pretty clear that they are going to run with what they have regardless.

If you cannot give us what you want, then we will settle for what you have or indeed nothing at all!

Leaving "preliminary" in there implies that there would be more to come from
the group. That may be, but it may also be that after whatever the Board
decides to do during its September retreat, this group will become moot.
