Even when they become mainstream, you will need to distinguish them in some kind of way, for clarity purposes, at least in the domain-er circles.

At this point in time, listing them as IDN on sales lists, brings about general awareness which can be a good thing.

Agreed 100%. For now IDNs need as much awareness as they can get.
