True. This is one of the best IDNs ever. Being both Chinese and Japanese plus having the option of subdomains it's got unlimited potential. Whoever bought this got a potential 8 figure domain. But then again 100K seems to be the current market value for an ultra premium IDN.

To soar high with this amply cash-feed seller, I believe some of us need the eyes and ears of the media to provide the rising wind by breaking these IDN Sales news stories worldwide to take us in view of the many investment spotters situated on the mountains of cash!!!???

This is a very important sale.
Granted the Moscow sale is similar but a Geo nation is really different than a city Geo.

A nation Geo is special.
And this Geo working for Chinese and Japanese at the same time is very important and unique.

An important point also....the same domain as a cctld ... either dot JP or dot CN would
not really make a great deal of sense.

and as an idn.idn cctld for both languages would not make a lot of sense either.

this only adds to its value ...
could it be resold in short order in Japan for a million ? I gather yes.

Could it be sold as a business if moderately developed for 10 million +++ in the medium term ? absolutely.

I wish!

I have a mind like a sieve but I'm pretty sure no one offered it to me.

And if they had I probably would have counter offered $50k :)

If you compare Shoes.nl in Dutch which sold for $166K to Japan.com in Japanese for $100K, the buyer for Japan.com really got a deal of a lifetime. There is no comparison in my opinion and wonder why shoes.nl could fetch more that one of the best IDNs out there (Japan.com). The Sun probably hasn't risen in Japan yet! But when it does, I am sure it will be brighter than most places.

am i the only one to be a little depressed about this sale? anyone in future who wants to sell domains of this kind for this kind of price, could you post it here first, do an auction with reserve of 100k or something... Unless f course this is a buddy buddy sale.

In other news, this b***-ugly 18th century Chinese vase gets sold for 80Million dollars:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101112/ap_on_re_eu/eu_britain_valuable_vase;_ylt=AlyD6cXnkOltxSyBtmuZzikDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTJ0a2hvaDcyBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAxMTEyL2V1X2JyaXRhaW5fdmFsdWFibGVfdmFzZQRwb3MDOQRzZWMDeW5fYXJ0aWNsZV9zdW1tYXJ5X2xpc3QEc2xrA3BvdG9nb2xkZmFtaQ--

If I owned that vase, I'd probably have traded it in for Japan.com long time back. I suppose this says something about my taste or lack thereof.

Quote...In other news, this b***-ugly 18th century Chinese vase gets sold for 80Million dollars:

If only we had a 'Org' that years ago or now (well done to IDN Auction) that could promote IDNs amd help investors to understand the correlation between Non-English advertisers and IDN keywords (e.g. Game.com keyword per click = £/$2.00 (or whatever) ) and how you can profit from the millions searches for - Game.com - that happens in foreign countries for that keyword. Taking this correlation into consideration, its income, "Game.com non-English keyword" is a potential £2,000,000 ($3,231,000) keyword!

... then we would have the likes of Christie's and Soetheby's begging IDN owners to sell their keyword, be it a Western or Non-Western keyword in one click. Just get them hooked!

I think the lack of suggested price minimum made the original post seem to be an attempt to get a price of a much higher order.

I'm sure a lot of people are now regretting not pulling out their wallets for this one.
