Although many languages in the Russian Federation have official status, .РФ only supports Russian Cyrillic, and not the letters used for these other languages.

According to Wiki, there 27 different languages which are also considered official languages in certain regions along with Russian.

the Chechens are unlikely to get a fair hearing in Moscow ...so maybe an exile will file for a gtld IDN.

a Chechen registering to the RU or PO bureau is not likely even if they launched it.
