When you register a domain how is it legally yours? I know we register at godaddy,dynadot, ect... For example, if something happens to one of those companies and they go under, then what? Who else are domains registered with if such a thing happened? Just curious.:confused:

IIRC, the Registrars are required to store client data offsite (Iron Mountain?) so WTSHTF ICANN can get access to ownership info.
Keep your registration/renewal invoices.
