So there is no word that just means "cats" that includes both male/female? Does that mean that both the male & female names would be just as good as each other?

Just one last thing, you mentioned that the letter "ה" means "The". By putting that at the end it turns the word into a female version, is that correct?

cats would be חתולים which is for more then one male cat but then theres חתולות which would be the word for more then one female cats
in many occasions, when the letter ה then it turns it into the female one i.e
חתול
חתולה
חתולים
חתולות

כלב
כלבה
כלבים
כלבות

ילד
ילדה
ילדים
ילדות

but not always, also many times when the letter ם which btw can only be the last letter of a word (like ם,ץ,ף,ך,ן) these 4 letters only will show up as the last letter of the word and remember Hebrew is RTL Language (Right to left)

the "final" letters above also have the version for when they are needed in the i.e center of the word so it will be:
final letter and it's not final letter equivilant

נ = ן
צ = ץ
כ = ך
פ = ף
מ = ם

The masculine plural - חתולים - also refers to "cats" with unspecific gender. Whereas the feminine version only applies to "(female) cats".

Same with the masculine singular. And similarly for "dogs".

I ask the same question for all languages apart from English !! I think the answer is simple - to stop none-natives from registering all the good IDNs.
