I am really interested as to hear from some native Chinese people, as to the experience of the "great firewall of china".

I have read about the Chinese censorship, but only on western websites - I would really like to hear about it from a Chinese persons perspective.

How is it accepted by the Chinese people? is it seen as a positive action?

There are always at least 2 opinions to anything, so there must be a number of Chinese that actively disapprove of it - what percentage of people is this?

Is there a democratic process that these people voice their opinion?

I'm not from China, but people from my country have gone to jail for talking the wrong stuff at the wrong place and at the wrong time.

The mentality here is not to control completely, but to catch a few trouble makers, penalize them, publicize their cases on newspapers to scare the rest into behaving properly.

It's like in olden days in both Asia and Europe where executed offenders are hung up for display for several days or even weeks at public squares.
