This looks like game(s).net in Japanese right? Is "ゲーム" the primary term for game(s) in Japanese? Just wondering why it has a relatively low GKT search volume of only 201,000 compared to เกมส์ (game(s) for Thai) at 5 million monthly searches? Japan's population is 127 million vs 67.5 million for Thailand. Is there another more commonly used term for game(s) in Japanese?

The Japanese overwhelmingly use Yahoo for search.

Thanks Sarcle, but with Google.co.jp holding about 38% of search engine market share vs. 51% by Yahoo.co.jp, I would have thought the search volume for "ゲーム" would still be higher than 200,000 monthly searches on GKT. If GKT's search volume for Japan is correct, then with 100% of searches by all Japan's search engines for the term "ゲーム" [game(s)] generate only about 526K searches compared to the equivalent เกมส์ [game(s) in Thai] at 5 million monthly searches.

With about double the population of Thailand, I would have thought Japan would have at least double of the search volume for the [game(s)] term at about 10 million monthly searches or so.

Is there a better tool to rank/check searches for Japanese keywords?

ゲーム is the primary term for games in Japanese as far as I know. Also, Yahoo Japan has adopted Google as their search engine, so you get the same result searching at an either service. Not sure how or if that's reflected in Google tools though.
