Google just hired Ariya Banomyong as Thailand's first country manager to focus on business development and sales as per the link below. Hopefully this translates to higher adsense earning for the Thai market as well.

That's good news. I will be even more excited when they actually open an office here instead of doing everything from Singapore.

Hiring Ariya as Thailand's Country Manager focussing on business development is part of the plan to open an office in Thailand.

ZDnet also reported here (http://www.zdnetasia.com/blogs/interview-google-discusses-focus-on-thailand-possible-bangkok-office-62300774.htm) that:

"The team covering Thailand is currently based out of Google's Singapore office but, as the scale of work in Thailand increases, can we expect a Google office in Bangkok anytime soon?
Yes, we can confirm Google will be opening an office in Thailand within this year, however, we have nothing further to announce at this time."

Google has already opened its second office in Malaysia (http://www.google.com.sg/intl/en/jobs/locations/index.html) as a second South East Asia location and now local office in Thailand has been confirmed.

Excellent news! Should definitely help with Adsense earnings, but maybe not for a while.

Outstanding news! A local office means involvement with the Universities and local business community. And yes, sooner or later should mean increased advertiser activity. W00t!

The Banomyongs are also quite influential in Thailand. He is related to the late Prime Minister Pridi Banomyong who brought democracy to Thailand. Being well connected plus his proven performance from his days at True should make him quite valuable in openning/solidifying Google's successful business development in the Thai online market.
