Just looking at Dynadot expiring where a few hundred Arabic/Persian names are dropping, mainly .net, in the next 24 hours or so.
Seen many over the past weeks so I guess a few people are moving on consolidating?

Each and they're reasons to drop or register a name but i hope i keep finding some within those that drop like the ones i find periodically in the past recent months.
One fairly obvious reason is that most don't have all the information and understanding of where things are and where they are going to be with idn's which likely effects they're decision to drop.
Maybe everyone here is just a part of the idn cult and we all just can't face the truth and realize we screwed up when we bought idn's.

......Did you forget to drink your kool-aid this morning?
as for Wot's question. The Arabic names all seem to have been regged within the last 2 years and many seem to be first names or translits of websites, I am not saying that a gem is not among them but a quick and dirty analysis doesn't say much for the bunch. I am just now getting down my first cup of java. Also there were a sh!t load of Arabic names that dropped at domainsite within the last year that were IMO of the same quality. jm2c

No, it was just a failed attempt at ironic humor.

I had almost 300-400 domains dropped, many of them were bought from here for hundreds of dollars. I guess I am stupid although I found an excuse for myself -- careless!! People picked these domains are lucky!
I am still a strong believer.............

I don't get it.
I guess my portfolio is typical of many; many of my reg fee names I got are already paying for themselves, and I have many that make $50-$200 each year, easily covering their renewal fees.
How many ascii domainers can say that about reg fee domains in this age of parking revenues?
So haven't we already won? Aren't idns already a success? The only question I have now, is how high will the traffic go.

I see Rick has roughly doubled his Dot Com Portofolio to about 6000.
Wonder what he managed to pick up? Other than a nasty little rash that is.

Nah, we are just waiting for our overlord to issue their final decree to set our final plan into motion.

You'd think so. You'd think in a sane world you could post a domain and it's traffic and revenue and have ascii domainers recognize that IDN are worth their weight in gold. But for some reason. Even if you do. They are all still shit in their eyes. To them it's all Klingon or some mass delusion we all suffer from.

Yep. Had I known what I know now, I could have put together a seriously cash generating portfolio of 1000 idn making low 6 figures.
I once bought a good two word generic ASCII for xx,xxx and sold it ASAP when I was seriously underwhelmed by the traffic and income. Far less than my good idn. I was lucky to sell it and scratch.

What were your mistakes back then ? Not investing in .com ?

More like understanding which types of generic Japanese names receive highly paid traffic. Most do, but some much more than others. I picked up one recently that has done very well, so they're still out there, but a real pain to find.

by far I would say that is medical terms, i.e. names of diseases/ailments, they are highly searched and pay high $cpc, I must have a dozen or so of these, all random names I picked up by accident, and they are all performers.

Haha, Gary I was going to post that but decided not to. Yep, diseases, even long ass names, and the other sector that works for me is small dog breeds.
