Statement by Counselor Abdel Moez Ahmed Ibrahim;
The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Commission of Elections

If the people knew their right way and struggled in the quest of justice, freedom, dignity and the sovereignty of the law, their pride of their past becomes stronger and their awareness of their present becomes more comprehensive. This way their keenness on creating a better future becomes stronger.

Revolution is the only way through which any struggle could cross from the past to the future. It is also the only way to shrug off the shackles of the past and be liberated from oppression and exploitation in an attempt to realize radical change accompanied by a process of full reconstruction towards a better tomorrow by building a society of the state of the law, justice and efficiency.

The spark of the revolution broke out on Tuesday January 25, 2011 in response to calls by youth groups whose culture has interacted with the ideas of the age in which they are living. They gathered in Tahrir Square to mark the beginning of a long road towards achieving their demands. They managed to attain their goals despite the difficulties they faced and endured, including sacrificing hundreds of innocent martyrs and thousands who were injured.

All other powers, parties and political movements and the armed forces joined them with all melting into one pot to declare the victory of the revolution.

And now, while we are on the threshold of a new era of our national history we are bracing for holding the first free parliamentary elections after the revolution with elections have realized all elements of success being under full judicial supervision that enjoys full independence and impartiality and supported by a sovereign people and backed by the Armed Forces and the police with the latter being purged to cross from an outdated era to a new era based on democracy and the rule of the law and achieving efficiency and justice.

The darkness of repression is now over after January 25, 2011 and the sun of that glorious day has risen to lighten all parts of Egypt. The whole world is unanimous that the Egyptian revolution is an example to be followed by all the world peoples who are seeking liberation and freedom.
