I have compiled a list of Western Companies/Brands that are using China's Sina Wēibó (Wēibó = microblog) 新浪微博 which some of you may find interesting. http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_6fab54120100wohn.html It is not an exhaustive list but so far, I have found over 200 Western Companies/Brands using Sina Wēibó. When I first started this quest I was not expecting to find so many and was pleasantly surprised to find over 200.
Apart from the fact that China is now a crucial and growing market, I take this number of western companies using Sina Wēibó to be an indication of a growing awareness of the importance of i18n. An awareness that has, with some Companies, become practice with respect to Social Media.
