When Aakash Tablet (http://www.aakashtablet.in) was announced as LCAD(low cost access device) with subsidized price of around 35$ for students all over India,a few people said, its a vaporware. Now, we all know its not vaporware for sure, however early adopters has expressed disappointment with performance of Aakash Tablet PC in Aakash Tablet Review (http://www.aakashtablet.in/2012/01/aakash-tablet-user-review-by-early.html). Government has already announced that there is a huge market of 22 crores Akash Tablet and they may choose new manufactures for it (http://www.aakashtablet.in/2012/01/better-faster-aakash-2-aakash-ii-at-no.html).

From domain investors(and website owners) point of view, success of this tab will contribute enormous internet enabled population, for most of them, it may be only internet access device. 22 crores in digit is 22,00,00,000 devices. Will it change Indian IDN scenario? It will have certainly an impact on Indian IDN if going forward there is a way to type in native script.

Tablet are great, but cellphones are the true internet browser for the mega millions.

Just a matter of time for Indian IDNs, just not sure if that is another 10 years to reach critical mass....
