If you look at the top right of the screen - you see a Russian and British flag. I guess the user selected English as the language.

This is my favorite station: Mayakovskaya. Understated, compared to some of the others.

On an IDN note: Many of the names of Moscow Metro stations are unregistered in .com. Here is a list of all the stations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Moscow_metro_stations.

I've never visited St. Petersburg, but I visited Leningrad a few times.

At that time, the Metro was of course called the Leningrad Metro.

Well, actually, someone had decided to name the Metro after V.I. Lenin, so its name had been changed to the V.I. Lenin Leningrad Metro.

Then someone else decided to award the Metro by bestowing upon it the Order of Lenin, so the full name then became the V.I. Lenin Order of Lenin Leningrad Metro. (In Russian: Ленинградский Ордена Ленина Метрополитен имени В.И. Ленина).

I was impressed that the Soviet officials had figured out how to work three mentions of Lenin into the name.
