If enough people with interest in IDN's go we should do some small idn meetup possibly? http://prague44.icann.org/full-schedule

It would be a delight to meet with you. However, Discretion is the better part of valor (http://www.enotes.com/shakespeare-quotes/better-part-valor-discretion). (to paraphrase Shakespeare).

If I were to show up at an ICANN meeting it is not impossible that I might throttle someone. (My personal vocabulary now has as many variations on the meaning of 'Patience' as the Eskimos (Sami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eskimo_words_for_snow)) have on the meaning of 'Snow'.)

I hope circumstances allow ourselves, and others the opportunity to meet in person.

Are there any plans for another IDNEvent?

Was hoping to go but probably won't make it.

Toronto is more likely. I hear there's a tower there somewhere?

It is very gracious of you to suggest a destination in my home country. Especially considering how far a journey that is for you.

I have good friends in Toronto and they are very fine people.

If you can get out to experience some of the more ethnic neighborhoods (http://www.exploretaca.com/eng/article.html?id=668) you will probably enjoy your visit.

Your choice of pictures resonates and is 'money' on many levels. :p Even her expression describes succinctly the reception most of the natives will provide you.

Canadians as a rule are friendly. Toronto.... not so much.

i have to strongly disagree with u on that. Torontonians are probably the friendliest people you will meet, probably even more friendlier then people in amsterdam, from my experience.

When I was there I found it very amusing that in Montreal you can't find a regular bar, as all bars are strip clubs while on Toronto you can't find a strip club, as there is none.

Depends on who you met in Amsterdam.

Applicable to anywhere you visit, i think.

Ps. JOSE: was your tour guide of toronto Amish?

Last news i've heard a few weeks ago is that they are trying to make marihuana and prostitution legal.

Come to think of it, Toronto is on it's way to becoming Amsterdam (Light)

Now that I think of it, maybe it was the other way around?!

Someone explain me at the time that Quebec had very different laws on these "sensible" issues.

Without doubt you can meet good people everywhere. I am not the only one who considers the denizens of your city boorish however. Actually you seem to be famous for it from those I have met in my travels.

On one of my trips to Toronto I was being shown around to the various clubs by a friend on a Saturday night. We were in a very nice pool hall with a bar and he was waiting on a phone call from a buddy of his who could get us past the line for the next club on the list.

I sat at the bar and happened to meet 2 very delightful young ladies from New York. We had a pleasant conversation but after about 25 minutes my friend got his call and we had to leave quickly. I'll never forget the look on the faces of those two ladies as they said. 'You can't leave us now! We have been here 3 days and you are the first friendly person we have met!'

I didn't have the heart to tell them I wasn't from there.

Maybe it is just downtown. I always have a good time in the suburbs.
