What do these mean to you?

点看

Answer:

点看 is a bad translation of .com

Google Translate:

Point of view
Large to take

Hell, what does it matter. They now mean:

Dot Com
Dot Net

Why?

Because Verisign says so!

What does Verisign mean in English?

To the detractors in this argument, presumably nothing!

Did you ask them what .com means to them?

Although people are unhappy with 点看, I still don't see a compelling argument for a different extension to definitely win over it. Gongsi is CNNIC and also might not make sense for services like Baidu or social networking. As for .cn, Baidu already redirects its .cn to .com.

I'm not sure I understand how .com could win against .点看 either in China.

I take it he/she meant 'skillful', not 'killful'.

I believe that most of the Chinese idn investors thought that 点看 & 大拿 was the worst translation of dot COM & dot NET -
