I am hoping to properly educate my 2 sons on proper cross pond nomenclature...

Before I try to whiteboard a Venn diagram...

Is this still correct ?

The Crown = British Isles (minus Rep of Ireland) + Commonwealth Realm + British Overseas territories

British Isles = Ireland (rep + NI) + Great Britain (E,S,W) + crown dependencies

United Kingdom = Nor Ireland + Great Britain + Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey

Great Britain = the 1 physical island of England , Scotland and Wales but not any offshore smaller islands.

Yes, but British Isles also contains Isle of Man, and some would argue Channel islands.

Great Britain only comprises one Island.

The Crown is more a series of separate legal entities than anything else.

Ok...thanks...

I just wanted to make sure that Great Britain and UK describe 2 different geographic entities as I was taught.

It is very unfortunate that non European geographers get the definition of Great Britain as the physical one island wrong.
