Japanese - Shorter vs Longer Words

車 vs 自動車

Are they both worth alot of $? or just 車? I'm just using this as an analytical examplea s I've seen other keywords that are available that are similar. (non auto)

In cases like this, I've been asking native speaking translators to tell me which is most common.

I think the short may be easier to brand and remember, but who knows.

Some things are not based on length but the actual term.
Katakana terms might be long but it's a word.
& also with kanji you might see 2 or 3 characters but it's 1 term.

Both are really used a lot you really have to search for the term you want to see which shows up more.
If I gave you an answering like Car is worth more than Auto or Automobile I'd be lying cause it might be wrong.

AutoSales.com is better than CarSales.com
but UsedCar.com is better than UsedAuto.com

It's case by case & up to you to find that out. No general answer in the Auto industry.
