Interesting. The factors that registries say will improve IDN uptake are email support and market awareness, confirming what we have said for some time on this forum. .JP expresses it in terms of "typical usage by a big brand" - in other words, awareness will grow when major brands start using IDN, something we've also said here too.

I've added a new term to my vocabulary - "homoglyph bundling". Why can't this be done with Arabic/Farsi? Could Verisign introduce it without requiring approval from ICANN?

Email Address Internationalized (EAI) is the only key to take up the IDN usage because the using of EAI will be able to teach how to type a domain in a browser’s address bar to folks in East Northern Asia.

The Portals in Asia are blocking and disturbing the IDN usages by using their market dominations on purpose.

To go around this flow blocking of portal sites, the EAI is the only solution can serve outside of their dominated boundaries and teach how to type the domains in the address bar...

All people in here type a domain in a portal’s search bar to move to a target site instead of typing it in a browser’s add bar even though it is an ASCII domain. And the IDN next links are blocked and trapped them in the middle of nowhere in a portal site.

So, got to wait few more years... Godspeed...
