Looks like he used Giant's name to register a domain hoping to capitalize on his reputation.

Should be a permanent ban IMO.

It's more than that!! go to members and check his profile, or check his posts - he has Lee Joe in his signature.

Ban is definite, but it isn't the solution, he can appear using another name.

You guys just got to be careful.

Am I the only one who is in the dark about his motives ?

The only thing he did is jeopardize the ownership of his names, in fact, why don't you transfer the name to your account.....

first thing you can do Giant is to park them all under your sedo account. Might as well make money from them - and it'll pass the whois check :p

I just report this to Enom, see how they will deal with this sort of behaviour.

Yes, the problem is he is controlling the DNS.

Why dont you contact ENOM and tell them you have lost your login ID and password, please check the whois for my names.... Not that I condone that kind of behaiviour and would strongly advise against it in the strongest possible terms...... But the whois does seem to reflect your details....:p

Problem is his names are all junk, don't bother....

He imitated my address. He used my postal code "T5G 2M9" but changed the number of the house and street. It's easy to tell it's a fake address because that location is with a different code. Even worse he put a Chinese postal code 210004 after the Canadian's. And co-incidentally, 210004 is Shanghai Xujiahui's postal code and that's where I stayed in 1998 :-)

I told Gamma a few weeks ago that I saw some domains for sale here are with fake IDs. My concern is that they could sell one domain to many different buyers and then disappear, because most buyers would pay him first for domains under $100.

So, when paying for a domain without using escrow, better check Whois first and make a phone call to verify ID.

The Chinese police said he is in China. He also uses Michael Bob in some places, but his Chinese name is probably Zhang Zhibo, but not quite sure yet because he never uses real name.

Olney can write down his IP for future reference.

Giant, you might need to put it in Chinese text here and spell it out for him.
I am not sure how you say identity theft in Chinese.

Yes, but there are more than just such ID concept, a lot of other laws and rules need to be mentioned too. We probably need a sticky with some explanations in Chinese.

As I mentioned before, a lot of mainland Chinese don't have a clear concept of laws.

This whole place is run on trust and custom and very few laws. People send you money on trust, and you transfer the domain on trust.

It's actually pretty close to a traditional merchant community that takes care of its own and sends out the trouble makers.

Just wondering, did this all get sorted out with this seller or his ID?

When he apologized, I thought he understood it's not right to use somebody else's ID for his domain info, he deleted my name but put in another fake ID. Therefore I suggest Olney at least temporally ban him.

For Olney, when you ban him, you're really helping him to understand how people judge his behaviour, and it can be very beneficial for the rest of his life. By the way, he's a young man not older than 25.

At this forum, you are not allowed to insert your sales in somebody else's sales thread, this is "rules".
When you enter a sales agreement with a buyer for a domain, you are not supposed to use a fake ID (misrepresentation), this is "laws".

If you don't respect rules and laws, you won't have my trust.
