Microsoft MSN readies Chinese searching service
News from Microsoft China said that Microsoft MSN has launched MSN searching engine (Beta) for Chinese users, and did test publicly for its Chinese searching service. The move shows that MSN has also joined the over-heated competition for searching engines. However, the searching services remain to be finished so far. MSN announced that the official launch time of the service would be upon user's feedback.
Insiders with MSN noted that their aim for launching Beta version lies in acquiring the demands from users and seeking basis for service improvement so as to launch MSN Chinese searching programme.
It is said that MSN Chinese searching service combines website search and desktop search. Additionally, Microsoft MSN Technologies (China) is inviting software and Internet engineers for its Chinese searching and e-mail services, and conducting feasibility research over users' feedback. Currently, the searching service for Microsoft MSN's Chinese websites is provided by Yahoo.
