Great article. Thanks Ravi! So the jury says, mobile internet is here to stay.
Highlights:
* If past is prologue, Mobile Internet will likely be bigger (based on aggregate wealth creation) and have more reach (based on global users) than cycles that have come before it.
* Mobile Internet represents a new computing cycle Mainframe -> Minicomputer -> PC -> PC Internet -> Mobile Internet
* Unlike past cycles, US is follower, not leader
*This is much bigger than what we saw 10 years ago [with the PC Internet].
- Jonathan Sacks, MFORMA CEO
* Most people’s first computing experience will be via a cell phone.
- Eric Rudder, SVP, Technical Strategy, Microsoft
* Mobile May Help Drive Local Growth
The data seem a bit outdated though: Mobile Phones in Users in India shown as 40 mil. However, this figure is 100 mil.
