View Full Version : Possible to register .com Domain Names with Spaces in Between?

Hi all,

I have been trying to register a few .com domain names with spaces in between (eg. "xxx yyy.com") . I have tried domainsite and dynadot and both gave me errors. However I do see that corresponding names with .net (eg. "xxx yyy.net") extensions have been registered with no problems. Anyone knows why this is the case and if there are any IDN registrars that would allow spaces for .com regs?

Thanks for all the help.

Hi, Can you post an existing example that has been regged with a space?

I have never seen one (Can you post some of the .nets you've seen)
There was a thread about it here...

Yes, please post the punycode of an example existing domain.

With punycode it's technically feasible to have spaces, but is disallowed.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I am trying to get clarifications from registrars to see why .nets with spaces in between words were registered succesfully but not .coms. I can definitely share the names (examples) after I get responses one way or the other and if I have any luck, will register the .com versions and report them here. In the meantime, if anyone else has been successful with such regs, I would appreciate any info on how to go about doing this.

Cheers!
