What do Americans in this forum think, especially with the topping of the American housing market?
I also saw reports saying new US MBA graduates now getting 100k+ starting pay?? Reminiscent of the prelude to the 'previous' dot com bust??
This will definitely affect the second hand domain market.

Yes, it's a good thing we are in IDN's. Japan seems to just be coming out there recession. China is surging rapidly to the top of the global economic sphere. I'd say we are going to be fine in our chosen field. I may have to move though as my dollar will be shot to hell, but that's alright with me.

Quote on recession coming in 2007 is from George Soros, one of the most anti-George Bush men in America. Also, one of the richest men in America (born in Hungary, I think). Soros made huge press during the last presidential election spending hundreds of millions trying to try and defeat Bush.
The (supposedly in control) Republican Party here in the US is in the hot seat on about 5 fronts right now. The Democrats smell blood, and Soros is just putting more gas on the fire! Polls show that most Americans are unhappy with the economy over the past few years.
Compounding this is a growing US deficit, couple of hundred billion to pay for the rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina, a couple of billion for Iraq, massive new security costs, near doubling of gas prices, and a quickly aging population fixing to put Social Security in the red.
Not a good forcast from my perspective...
