Thanks, but you still haven't answered this question:

what business are you in idn1234?

In April this year, however, Microsoft launched Internet Explorer 7.0 on a trial basis, which enables users to directly log on to the Web site of a company by typing its Chinese domain name. The service will be launched officially in November, said Huang Weikai, customer manager of Mainone Technology Company, CNNIC's Shenzhen partner.

Interesting :) .

CNNIC charges 280 yuan (US$35) for each domain name annually, and a company has to pay for at least 10 years' use at a time.

Journalists need to get it right.... 10 years isn't the minimum

Interesting :) .

Yes, I thought so too. I think a lot of the Chinese
'news', intended for the European/US public, is
politically motivated and I suspect we'll see a lot
more of this in the near future, especially after IE7
goes live.

I'm just worried that the Chinese government is still pushing their IDN.IDN so strongly...

...And they will keep pushing idn.idn. It is essential
that China go ahead with this, and they will.

She's going to be tickled pink to hear that =)

I'll let her know that i'm an evil spawn of hell and she could do better picking up the local drifter at the convenient store outside our apartment ;)

Good plan. It's always best to be truthful
in a new relationship :)
