I believe name.com and domainsite use the same interface and they are somehow inter-related.

Looks normal on my end.... Though has anyone tried to register an IDN there today? Not happening.

There is definately something going on with their site at the moment.
Pages not resolving etc...
My advice is not to attemt to login until it is fixed as they may have been compromised.

I doubt they've been hacked.

That "POSSIBLE BREAKIN ATTEMPT!" message is standard for SSH when you log in to a server whose reverse DNS does not match.

I'm guessing they've screwed up DNS somewhat.

If you look the A records for domainsite.com you get:

domainsite.com. 300 IN A 72.9.109.75
domainsite.com. 300 IN A 69.25.212.135
domainsite.com. 300 IN A 72.9.109.74

If you go to those 3 IP #'s, one gives a directory listing ( of an Apache server with frontpage extensions installed (gaaaaa!). Another gives the cpanel "no site configured" message, and the other gives you domainsite's website.

So just access it via IP # if you need to do stuff.

I'm a bit concerned they let something like this happen, so the "do stuff" on my part is "pull any names sitting there that have high value".

Good advice. I am thinking the same.

What are some of the other good options apart from Dynadot, Enom, Moniker and Dotster? Anyone else you recommend?

Dun think that is possible. Perhaps, you can do an early renewal for some of your better names. btw, if they are going to approve the flexi pricing, i think we gonna need to find moeny for 10-year renewal. For those with thousand or more names...Aaarrrggh!...

Just had a check myself, and I am seeing a Control Panel page, saying that there is no website configured at this address.

At least this might mean some progress is being made, but who knows.

Anyone know how long the site has been down ??

Some of you will still be having problems because it was a DNS issue and you or your ISP may be caching the incorrect IP number.

That does not explain why registering is still not working.

Also, very bad policy not having a notice on their homepage about the downtime.

I have spoken to Scott at Domainsite.

He has confirmed that the loss of service was unscheduled, but did not seem to be aware that you could still not register.

He has assured me that there are no security issues.
