Not surprising, since most people are still not aware of IDNs - even DCG is confused - check his questions on DNF.

I hope he doesn't register that "fried egg" domain :-D

Yep, oddly enough I don't know of any noteworthy idn sales on asian sites.

Well, there are tens of thousands of dictionary terms like Vagina.com, but there is only one 高知県 and one 佐賀県. (The .jps are blocked.)

It depends on how you see it. It won't take a genius to realize the end user value of such domains.

You are in the dark - you can check with Dave how much he sold his chinese cities for. And the people that bought from him progressively since the second half of last year are all serious collectors.

Collectors find his domains, and not the other way round, so they are sold even before they got a chance to show up on the for sale board on this forum. One of my regrets is finding him late, otherwise, i would snapped up Tianjin.com and Chongqing.com.

Just found this and yes, I am not that knowledgeable on IDN domains.

I do want to learn and invest in IDN. ;)

DCG is not an IDN...but you can be "our" DCG! He'll just have to get another name if he comes a visiting. Welcome aboard to the wild frontiers of domaining!

Not sure what that means, but this is me. ;)

My suggestions would be to read quick.
I know you're revamping your own DNF.
Most of the mistakes, tactics, tips, & research etc are already here.
There's probably a few more though I haven't said though...

DCG- appreciate you coming over! Thought for a moment we had someone new with the same initials. We welcome your insights on IDNs after looking over the pros and cons.

It certainly is an interesting time, and it truly looks like the IDN system will kick in later this year. I was enticed over to IDNs with the following statement that truly made me realize the incredible potential of what was about to unfold with IE7, and the financial rewards for taking a bit of risk at this stage.

"IDN domaining is like being back in 1995 with all the knowledge of 2006".

Again, welcome.
