Hola, ¿qué tal?

Hola Jose!

So what's the deal with pre-registration then? Are the registrars you mention accredited?
Who do you recommend?

Well, I tried pre-registering them on acens.com but I got errors:

El formato del dominio introducido no es válido

Un dominio válido tiene que seguir las siguientes normas de estructura:

* Debe contener sólo caracteres alfanuméricos, o el carácter "-".
* El caracter "-" no puede aparecer al principio o al final del nombre de dominio.

It could have been that I didn't register with the punnycode. I'll try it and come back to you :D

tikonenko

Hola!

Saludos

I thought the good idn.es were already registered? Do you have to be a resident of Spain?

I would like to know what English IDN .es registrars are currently allowing pre-registration?

Use this: http://www.hostinet.com/dominios_idn_es/

CURIOSITY: Did you know that españa.es could end up on the hands of a Portuguese? Just put españa.es on the form above and you'll see what I mean. He's name is "Ricardo Coelho" and he is the first on line to get it.

Question: Will nic.es bend the rules?! Spain and Portugal have been fighting over land for almost 1000 years and now a "tuga" would take Spain! LOL

touchring
27th September 2007, 07:42 AM
I took some time to understand what the whois means. Seems that they are listing "variants"? And Ricardo actually owned the variant "espanha.es".

However, since espana.es is "Dominio reservado espana.es por lo que no se puede coger españa.es".

So how can anyone get españa.es?

yanni

The one you mentioned here Jose - www.hostinet.com

I am just hoping putting "n/a" in the NIF box is not an issue ;) - do you think it will be?

No, no issue. Hostinet is part of backorders.es network which is not accepting any more entries for the autions. That's why I don't get the 1 hr and 30 minutes waiting...

Nice, a record price will really help IDNs, can't wait to show off on ASCII forums. btw, spanish.com gets much more traffic than spanish.es.

whats the cheapest place to register idn .es

Asiaplay
13th December 2007, 07:08 PM
not sure IDNCowboy... mine cost $3.95 Euro + tax = 5.74 Euro through hostinet.com who was who Jose introduced here earlier... seems quiet cheap (especially given overseas based registrars like ipmirror are asking for S$200 for the same thing).

The Whois shows me as the registered owner now (so is legit) - but must admit I am still not sure how to set the DNS Server for it (as seems no link in account to do this).
Awaiting Jose's advice here ;)
Once logged in, they do have an option to change to an English menu for your Account - but signing up and paying is all in Spanish.

Cheers - Asiaplay

You can set the nameservers via the link: http://login.dominios.hostinet.com each of your domains when you regg'd had a password so enter that under the domain name (include the .es extention) you can set the nameservers and also check your contact info as some of it may not have been updated properly. Let me know if this works and maybe Jose can confirm.

Yes, phio, you're right. Each have a pwd which you can use also at red.es. I am not a big fan of hostinet control panel :(

Also, don't get your idn.es without reading here first:

Thanks Phio... I will try later today (I did notice the password - so it should work fine)... it is also interesting that I can do this at red.es (thanks Jose).... appreciated guys.

PS: Interesting article Jose... seems unstable position for large investment - but the one I got should be ok, as I own the .com, .net and .biz etc. as well (so worst case sernario I use those instead if ever lost the .es) - but not great position for large investors in .es it seems.

Not too stressed - nice little addition, which I am unlikely to get challenged on anyway (and nice of Jose to put that article up, so we all understand)...

Yeah - think I will wait for that small Island, .uk to go IDN so I can get the Hindi, African languagues, French and Spanish terms I want... understand no one speaks English there anymore isn't it lol ;)

Jose, I tried the red.es and couldn't find where to log in. Also, once we have purchased a .es domain, is there a way to tranfer it to a new owner after it has been sold? THanks!
