Will Rubber Duck be a polyglot?

A "Tower of Babel" device that gives the illusion of being bilingual is being developed by US scientists.
Users simply have to silently mouth a word in their own language for it to be translated and read out in another.

The researchers said the effect was like watching a television programme that had been dubbed.

Wouldn't that be a reverse Tower of Babel? At the building of the Tower of Babel, the workers were struck with only being able to speak in languages that the others didn't understand, thereby making the continuing building of the tower impossible.

Anyway, sounds like an interesting device.
