Happy new year.
I'm new to IDN names and am excited about the prospects..
I'm looking at registering some chinese IDN names and would like to know where I can go to get an english to chinese translation which also includes the correct characters (if that;s the right word for the letters, etc.).
I also understand after doing some reading, is that I should look for the simplified chinese first?
Also is domainsite.com a good place for registering?
Thanks for the help.

I have nearly everything there. Moniker might also be worth a look.

Any comments on this conversion website?

I'm a bit confused because the same word input results in different answer when compared with http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php
Here's an example:
house
房 from http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php
房子 http://www.freetranslation.com/

Try using www.zhongwen.com as well
I mean, after you have a word, check Google/ Baidu Hit counts to verify the word!

Yes. Chinese has many synonyms...
Single char is often less used than its double char form.

Freetranslation.com is certainly pretty good for Russian. I would not, however, rate it too highly for Chinese.
