Владельцы доменов в зонах .КОМ и .НЕТ получат кириллические домены .com и .net в придачу

С 1 декабря все регистрации кириллических доменов в зонах .КОМ и .НЕТ на портале Вебнеймс.ру, будут сопровождаться регистрацией аналогичных доменов в зонах .com и .net.

Таким образом при подаче заявки на домен "веб-хостинг.ком", будут зарегистрированы два домена - "веб-хостинг.ком" и "веб-хостинг.com"

Стоимость такого комплекта будет составлять $35.

В соответствии со стандартами, утвержденными IANA разрешение (resolving) русскоязычных доменов осуществляется при помощи бесплатно распространяемой программы iClient™

iClient™ полностью совместим с другими IDN-плагинами, поддерживая многоязычные домены в зонах .РУ, .КОМ, .НЕТ, .ОРГ, .com, .net, .org

Save your cash...these require a plug in..pretty much worthless.

i think so too, but is there any chance if .ком domains doesn't become equal to .com but will be sued instead of it? i guess not...

Don't know what all this is really actually about, but somebody has got the message that Cyrillic Names are worth big bucks!

RD - i don't think they would cost anything... not many people would probably download that plugin for russian tlds... but of course it all will depend on the icann (or maybe local government) decision on local-language tlds... i believe it will be in our favor anyway (those who buy idn.coms)

This company created a non-ICANN .ком and .нет.

Now, they promise that they will be giving away for free, to all those who register in their proprietary .ком and .net, domains in the ICANN .com and .net.

yeah, that's what the article says - i'd buy an idn .com for 7$ rather than both for $35
