I have read quite a bit about unicode utf8 vs unicode. Opinions vary. I have a test site written in (UTF-8) and it looks fine when viewed in (UTF-8) but not right in any other view. Maybe unicode would be more viewable by the masses. Am pretty new to this and I hate making mistakes.
ハワイの写真 an example. I wish to properly encode.
Have looked at the source on many sites and get some various encodings. All work fine on my machine. My primary target for my sites would be Japan, but would like it easily accessed by english speaking countries also. Thank you for any input.

you are probably thinking about utf-8 vs shift-jis. UTF-8 seems to get better SE results.
