Do links have to be in unicode or punicode for Google to count them when determining ranking? Or either?

Thanks.

If you link with punycode, people with IE6 won't be able to access the link. Important, n'est pas?

It's the opposite. If you link with punycode, everyone can access the link...but with unicode you need an IDN compatible browser.

oops, yeah sorry, that's what I get for posting at 3 am. But good you corrected me. Linking with unicode is the wrong thing to do unless you have a 100% installed user base of IDN browsers, and who has that?

Also you shouldn't just worry about Google. In some parts of the world, Google is still just small potatoes.
