недвижимости.ws | Is this Real Estate ??

Hi again guys and gals,

Looks like a mini explosion in the .ws market at the moment.
I had previously regged some .ws domains for some projects I am working on ( ie: not for resale ), and I usually reg IDNs in languages I am familiar with.

However, my knowledge of Russian is bad, with a few bum registrations in the past.

Can anyone confirm if this name is correct ??

Most other extensions were regged including .tv

Both Google and Babelfish translate this as being real estate ( though I know online translators are not always correct !! )

Yahoo results show 21 million for недвижимости
Google results show 26 million
Yandex wordcount shows 990643
Overture ( US ) shows 683

So, have a I regged another bummer or is this term correct or widely used ??

I told you my Russian was useless.

Just had a look again at the Yandex results thing, and noticed that the number 990643 was for недвижимость and not недвижимости.

Googles and Yahoo results were also much higher for недвижимость
Google - 72 million
Yahoo - 52 million

Luckily enough, I was also able to reg недвижимость.ws which was still available.

So, can anyone let me know which ( if any of the two ) are the correct term for real estate ???

My Russian is useless - and I just regged these after random checking online through search engines, OVT, translators and whatever else I could find.

Thanks again - I feel slightly better now than I did about 20 minutes ago ( when I was sure I buggered up the Russian as usual ! )

It looks like I was lucky then to have spotted the slight difference between the two of them, and was able register the correct one.

Glowname, can I ask how the недвижимости word can be used ?? I am guessing it is used in a different way to the correct one. Would this one be any use to use subdomains for regions such as London.realestate ?? Or is does it have no use at all as it is ??

недвижимости means real estate but in the genitive (genitive case) - i.e. "to real estate" or "of real estate" - yes, it can't be search as a stand alone word (only with other words before or even after it) however it's not a bad domain name that you guys bought. my advice: don't drop it. you can use it for hundreds (if not thousands) searched word combinations by simply adding subdomains with related words. some good examples were given by glownames above. if you develop or have someone develop it for you, you can increase your ppc income for this domain thousands times. :) good luck.

Thanks for your reply. It was very strange to read it this morning, as last night, I was thinking about the exact same thing you mentioned with regards to subdomains using the words that Glownames previously mentioned.

I was thinking something along the lines of a set of mini sites ( probably 1 page ) for the various combinations that work with the domain.

yes, i think it's an excellent marketing idea. did you know that us.com is selling all possible subdomains on sedo? :)) and you only pay once for a real good domain with many subdomains possibility. :so, guys, go ahead and register these kind of names, even if this is not a popular word or even if it is never searched alone but if it has a huge subdomains opportunity - than you've got a winner. :) good luck!
