Penthouses for $21k seems quite cheap.

Sell one from the site and the commission pays for the name.

Whiskey.com Passed at $250k and Vodka.com 2M ?!
RealEstate.mobi Sold $85,000 and Flowers.com 200k?

I don't see any sales above 200k whatever the domain be. This auction is a failure in my opinion. If one takes it as a refence, Domain prices has just been trashed. Or it's just me?

Also, mobi is letting anything go by any price, lol...

RealEstate.mobi Sold $85,000 and Flowers.com 200k?

Technically, flowers fits the extention better, imo.

Also, most bidders are pros, not end-users (as in the case of vodka).

Here you go:

Greeting.com Sold $350,000

and

Families.com Sold $650,000

Finished with only half the names going under the hammer - a complete cock up - be thankful there were no IDN's in this foul up - and yes my name did not get out of the starting gate so well peed off! :o

silent auction already started this auction was not one of the best ive heard they either need more time or less names IMO that rush job at the end was sad

""Yet another record was broken in Las Vegas with over $4.2 Million in domains auctioned off in just under 5 hours. Seven domains were sold for 6 figures including: Families.com for $650k, Greeting for $350k, Blogster.com for $275k, ET.com for $225k, Settlement.com for $200k, OL.com for $150k and PX.com for $120k."

These prices are good benchmarks for the future.
I got settlement (native Japanese in jp) won't sell for that high right now but gives a good target for later.

I think some of the problems and paradoxes here are explained by the generally lower reserves, which have more or less been forced on sellers. Passes obviously don't generate commission.

Fewer big ticket sales perhaps, but a higher percentage of sold domains. Problem it takes longer to bid than to pass, so the total number of domains to be processed was lower.

I think there was still quite a bit of theatre going on, but I think bidding behaviour has been tempered by external critisisms. The process on the whole seems to have been a lot more transparent as a consequence.

Any updates on the silent auction portion? I have a couple in there, and I'd also be interested to see how the IDNs fare...

As someone with domains actually in the auction, they should give you access to follow the progress...

One would think that a Registrar would have programmers with the technical nouse to write an interface to allow sellers to load their names up via a website, and buyers peruse via same, rather than passing around Excel files via email!

Sheesh!

Talk about 90's technology!

***FS*** true dat.. double true

This was exactly what I thought about 2 weeks ago, that's also the reason I didn't want to submit my IDNs. Web programming is so easy and convenient, why on earth we have to send Excel files via email?

I assume he bought "HomeForeclosures" for $90K, not "HomeForecloses" since that is still available.
